From
live stage experience gained from literally thousands of performances with world renowned directors and conductors in
musical theater, opera, and operetta, I can help you develop your performing skills and stage presence. This experience provides
significant value one simply can not gain from from book-based instruction.
Choosing
the correct repertoire and roles is crucial to success. Even if a singer thinks they are ready to sing a more difficult role,
vocally and emotionally they must be certain and rehearse it for a very long time.
A
Wagnerian soprano, Deborah Polaski, told me during a coaching session in Bayreuth, "Eddie, when you can sing an aria back-to-back
3 times, then you can perform it".
I have sung the role of Jesus in Superstar
over 150 times, and lost my voice every 6th or 7th show. In the last 10 years I have never lost my voice from belting incorrectly
after learning this technique. It is as if it- "the voice" sings itself - in Germany they say, "Es singt!" (it sings), when
they hear a good singer.
